Sovereign AI with the three-tier model
Sovereignty is not a yes-or-no question, it is a question of tiers. We assign your data to one of three tiers by sensitivity: from the frontier models of the major providers for non-critical work to purely local AI for what is truly sensitive. To be honest, every step down costs result quality and operational effort. Once personal data and trade secrets are cleanly separated out, a large part can often run on tier 1 without concern. Data protection comes from architecture, not from policies.
Tier 1: Frontier models
The strongest models of the major providers, for difficult tasks and anything non-critical, for example source code without personal data.
Tier 2: Self-hosted in the EU
Self-hosted models on servers in the EU, no US provider in the data path. Also the fallback if a major provider fails or changes its terms.
Tier 3: Purely local
Models on your own hardware, for what is truly sensitive. Your data never leaves the company.
